Last Chance Blazer, PacSun Shorts, ASOS Boots, Urban Glasses
Last night I attended a lecture on The History of Fashion (Pre-Industrial Revolution) at the Phoenix Art Museum. I opted for some funky high waisted shorts for comfortable wear in the hot Tempe heat. Plus, they were way too much fun to dress up.
Confession time, I have no idea how to dress for summer. That’s suuuuper embarrassing for a desert rat to admit seeing as warm weather occupies 90% of Arizona’s climate. But after moving to a cold city like London, I realized how much I love tights, coats and scarves. In fact I still found myself reaching for pants and sweaters these last few mornings. In fact, as summer weather approaches, I’ve started venturing to my roommates’ closets for outfit inspiration. You can thank Makenna for this beautiful gypsy gown. It’s flowy fit was the perfect way to wander through London’s Spanish Food Festival. I’m in love, and may never give it back.
H&M Sweatshirt, Charlotte Russe Skirt, Target Socks, ASOS Booties
Sweatshirts and I have never really gotten along. They’re so comfortable to wear, but I always feel like a giant blob whenever I throw one on. Perhaps it’s my inner Arizonan acting completely dumbfounded that they could actually be fashionable! But I found experimenting with proportions and shape was the key to offsetting the boxy look of such a big shirt.
Meet Kirby, my go-to fashion buff here over the pond. Her outfits are always carefully crafted to elicit her carefree demeanour in most stylish way. I finally remembered my camera on Saturday so I could capture yet another one of her breezy looks. On a side note, this lady has the nicest ankles you’ve ever seen. They’ll blow your mind.
Meet Jami; the cutest, spunkiest bundle of sunshine to ever live. Although she’s normally behind the camera, today she stepped in front for a change (check out her blog here). She’s one of those lucky people who can pull of any look and make a sweatshirt and denim jacket combo look like a million bucks. Today’s ensemble was no exception, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to feature such a beautiful damask piece.
Street Vendor Hat, Vendor Shirt, Nordstrom Blazer, Forever 21 Pants, ASOS shoes
I’ve never considered myself a T shirt and jeans kind of girl, but I’ve still yearned for a way to pull off the look tastefully. Offsetting a basic graphic shirt with some leather pants and structured hat did just the trick. Plus a pair of dark lips are always a safe bet for me.
Top Shop pants, Urban Outfitters Sunglasses, Thrifted Shirt, ASOS Boots, Nordstrom Jacket
Tartan will always have a special place in my heart. When I found these marvellous pants at Top Shop my first day here, I knew it was meant to be. They’re an easy way to make any outfit feel “oh so London”. In this case, they put a brit twist to Sandy’s dangerous Greece look.
