Bay Time

Since leaving the bay this summer, I’ve adapted a more effortless style in my day-to-day wear. With that, I’ve been focusing on detailing through accessories. It’s made resorting to my usual leggings look, feel less drab and a liiiiitle more trendy. So being back in the land of normcore and simple style, I felt adding some gold accents to my comfy clothes were the perfect ensemble.

Equine Prep

As a former equestrian, I’ve always loved adding a bit of prep to my style. Growing up, I was the “horse girl” who spent more days with her horse than with boys. I even was known to wear dorky oversized-pony shirts from time to time. Though I don’t ride anymore, come fall you can still find me sporting leggings, my old riding boots and an oversized sweater. Though I’ve (mostly) outgrown the “horse-girl” style, I couldn’t resist this new sweatshirt. I may not ride anymore but I can surely own the equestrian trend like a pro.

Those Funky Flatforms

Nasty Gal Dress, Free People Skirt, Vintage Glasses, H&M Hat, Urban Outfitters Shoes

Sometimes all it takes is a new pair of shoes to inspire me. Yesterday as I was waiting for my phone to get fixed, I wandered into Urban Outfitters (swearing I wouldn’t buy anything of course). But when you stumble upon a $15.00 pair of flatforms exclusively available in your size, you know it’s fate. Thus fueling the fire of my new fall obsession; chunky things.

A Painted Night

After a busy summer out in San Francisco, I’m back in Phoenix, ready to dive back into blogland. Within my first week home, my friend Simply Audree Kate and I set off to Phoenix Fashion Week Shop Garment District Fashion Show. I opted for a colorful statement midi for the event. Hopefully this midi trend doesn’t go away anytime soon because I’m hooked!

Fierce Harem

Airport bound. Like most people, I’m always searching for that balance between comfortable lounge-wear and jet-setter chic. As I depart on to my next adventure in San Francisco I turned to my harem pants. Though everyone seems to have an opinion about the baggy pant style (even I had my fair share of eye-rolling), the harem style has grown on me. Besides being ridiculously comfortable, these bad boys are the ticket to pull off an effortless look.

High-Waisted Flow

Last night I attended a lecture on The History of Fashion (Pre-Industrial Revolution) at the Phoenix Art Museum.  I opted for some funky high waisted shorts for comfortable wear in the hot Tempe heat. Plus, they were way too much fun to dress up.

Summer Tulle

I was always a whimsical child growing up, preferring tutus and colorful fairy wings to regular clothes. Though I stick to more neutral colors these days, that same playful spirit still makes its way into my closet from time to time.  So when the “flower child” trend began showing up,  the little girl in me jumped at the chance to wear those same whimsical tutus again. Though I’ve had this tulle skirt for over a year now, it’s still one of my favorite pieces to style from edgy to chic.
